Hybrid Work:
This is a hybrid work position in Calgary, Alberta and requires in-person collaboration at the WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) 3 days per week. This provides flexibility the remaining 40 of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.
Reporting to the Director, Fleet Leasing and Transactions, the Treasury Specialist will support management of the aircraft fleet portfolio. This role will be responsible for lease administration and performing financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis to support decisions regarding aircraft acquisitions, leases, maintenance, and retirement. Key responsibilities include building business cases, tracking lease compliance, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize fleet costs and strategy for maximizing profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage timely and accurate processing of all lease-related payments
- Facilitate and support lease compliance procedures and administration
- Prepare and present business case analyses, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders
- Partner with internal teams such as Tech Ops, Accounting, and FP&A to gather data to support decision-making
- Support the origination, negotiation, and documentation of aircraft transactions including acquisitions, sales, leases, returns and modifications
- Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and modeling to support various strategic fleet initiatives and projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; CFA designation and/or aviation industry experience is considered an asset
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial analysis or accounting
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain a strategic, big-picture perspective
- Self-starter with strong critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Highly organized, process-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Proven track record of effective cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong interest in financial systems and tools
