STS Technical Services is hiring Avionics Repair Technicians in Grand Junction, Colorado to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and system verifications on turbine aircraft and advanced avionics components. This position focuses on component-level diagnostics, removal and installation of electronic systems, and ensuring all work aligns with FAA standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair avionics components such as navigation, communication, radar, audio, and autopilot systems
- Perform general avionics support tasks on turbine aircraft
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and verify performance of electrical systems and instrumentation
- Conduct inspections of aircraft systems and associated components
- Remove, install, and test aircraft panels and avionics systems
- Complete FAA documentation, logbook entries, work orders, and billing items
- Maintain and repair shop equipment, tools, and workspaces as needed
- Operate ground support equipment such as tugs, carts, jacks, and lifts
- Work independently on assigned projects with minimal supervision
- Communicate directly with customers when required, including conflict resolution
- Adhere to FAA regulations and company safety policies at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Electrical tech school or avionics-specific training preferred
- Valid driver’s license required; passport preferred but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
- At least 2 years of turbine aircraft experience preferred
- Familiarity with FAA paperwork and aviation billing processes
- Proficiency with personal computers and work order systems
- Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Frequent walking, bending, squatting, or sitting
- Routine physical motion involving arms and hands
- Able to work in varied physical positions in and around aircraft
Work Environment:
- Majority of work completed in a heated hangar
- Occasional outdoor work during aircraft operations
- Use of powered and non-powered ground support tools and avionics equipment
