Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join our team. You will be involved in heavy modifications, primarily working on the Hercules C130, transitioning to the Citation project, and supporting off-aircraft systems. Your role will include larger component installations and interior upgrades on aircrafts such as the 737 and CH47s.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble avionics and electrical parts according to manufacturing drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and maintenance manuals accurately.
• Work within the quality system and standard operating procedures to deliver products conforming to type design.
• Ensure all installations comply with Canadian Aviation Regulations and/or FAA Regulations.
• Identify non-conformances, counterfeit parts, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Plan and execute avionics installation projects with precision.
• Communicate effectively with peers and manufacturers.
• Ensure the use of effective and calibrated tools and maintain machines and tools regularly.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

• 10+ years of installation experience on aircrafts and landing gear installation.
• Proficiency in running comb and clamp harnesses.
• Experience with avionics and electrical systems on Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Bombardier, and Cessna.
• TCAA Approved Avionics or Accredited Avionics course
• Familiarity with leading avionics brands such as Garmin, Becker, Collins, Honeywell, COBHAM, and Technisonic.
• Minimum two years of experience with the maintenance and installation of aircraft avionics and electrical systems.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a team of 14 avionics technicians per shift, with the possibility of splitting to afternoon shifts in the coming months. The work schedule is flexible, with options like 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Work hours are typically from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with potential split shifts from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am. Contractors receive accommodations and may use company vehicles for transportation. A per diem is provided for travel outside of Port, and travel expenses like ferry costs and travel kilometers are reimbursed.
