Job Title: Avionics TechnicianJob Description
As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and troubleshooting of avionics systems on corporate aircraft. This role involves building and installing systems from scratch, performing panel upgrades, in-flight WIFI and communications upgrades, and modifications on Phenoms, Citations, Twin Commanders, and other corporate jets.
Responsibilities
- Install and test complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
- Ensure all avionics equipment functions properly before take-off without interfering with other electronic devices.
- Repair or replace defective avionics equipment before the next flight.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot aircraft systems accurately.
- Perform intricate and reliable soldering on failed electrical components.
- Provide accurate diagnoses of complex avionics problems.
- Organize ground support and test equipment for ground tests.
- Analyze flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and study operations of electrical or avionics components.
- Maintain constant vigilance for safety and ensure work adheres to the highest quality standards.
- Ensure the use of proper and adequate equipment, acceptable parts or components, and approved hardware or supplies.
Essential Skills- 5+ years of experience in Avionics.
- 2+ years of experience with corporate jets.
- 2 years of Avionics Installation experience.
- Ability to run wires, terminate connections, crimping, pinning wires, and use a multimeter.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Avionics troubleshooting skills.
- A&P license preferred, not required.
Work Environment
The work is conducted in a hangar environment, with a first shift schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a half-hour lunch break. Located in Indianapolis, IN, this position offers a stable and professional workplace setting.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
