As an Engineering Standards Specialist, you will rely on your existing skills and knowledge of the GSE industry and EV technology to drive effective change management in an operational environment. Your role will primarily consist of supporting dnata Technical Service (dTS) with the sustainable fleet strategy and wider engineering project portfolio by overseeing all projects relating to Ground Support Equipment (GSE) infrastructure, sustainability, and innovation. You will be involved in setting up a project environment, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed from a technical aspect including design, installation, commissioning, benefit analysis, and change management. Relying on your existing skills and knowledge of the GSE industry and EV technology to drive effective change management in an operational environment you will set-up and support developments in safety standards and help to up skill the workforce ready for large scale EV fleet deployments.
In this role, you will
- Organize and manage trials for new equipment and systems and prepare technical reports for management
- Execute special projects to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and support new initiatives
- Support the development of the strategic GSE Fleet plan with emphasis on environmentally friendly solutions
- Conduct technical evaluations of equipment for fleet replacement planning
- Act as the focal point for dTS on GSE technical matters
- Review technical training content and delivery to ensure relevance and effectiveness
- Identify failure trends and develop engineering solutions to improve reliability and serviceability
- Provide technical support to the workshop by analyzing data, identifying root causes, and coordinating with OEMs
- Manage technical relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors on engineering, quality, warranties, bulletins, refurbishments, and spare parts
- Lead the Engineering and Standards team and complete the performance review process
- Review vendor technical offers during tenders and prepare technical evaluation reports
- Coordinate commissioning and training for new equipment
- Liaise with vendors and external customers on warranties, parts issues, service evaluation, new services, contracts, and delivery standards
- Optimize the Total Cost of Ownership through analysis of maintenance trends and implementation of continuous improvements
- Review asset performance to minimize downtime, anticipate issues, and ensure safe operation
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legislative requirements across the department
- Lead technical investigations, approve safety reports, and implement CAPAs as required
- Support the Asset Modification and Change Authorization (AMCA) process, including logging, analysis, costing, OEM review, and stakeholder approval
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements
- Bachelors degree in any Engineering discipline and 6+ years’ experience in the field of maintenance in Ground Handling/Material, Air Cargo Handling/Automotive/ Manufacturing, Auto Mobile Industries
- Proficient in data collection and analysis
- Skilled in planning and organizing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong quality focus
- Experienced in supervisory and team management
- Skilled in customer relationship management
- Strong awareness of safety standards and practices
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems, including material and inventory management
- Experience in supply chain management (preferred)
- Familiar with PLCs, supply chain systems, cargo control, and cool chain processes
- Holder of a valid UAE driving licence
