Material Handler - Abrams Retrofit Support

$32.64/Hour

Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.

Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on support to logistics and inventory management for Abrams Tank systems, including tool, part, and supply tracking, documentation, and material movement.

• Receive, store, issue, and track bench stock, repair parts, tools, and Special Tools and Test Equipment (STTE) for Abrams vehicles.

• Maintain accurate stock control and accounting records using manual and automated maintenance systems (e.g., SAMS-E, SARS, LMP, PBUSE).

• Manage HAZMAT shelf life surveillance requirements.

• Generate reorder and inventory management reports (Reorder/Reorder Point – RO/ROP).

• Conduct location surveys, inventories, and update records for tools and STTE.

• Provide administrative support to Tool Room operations.

• Transport parts and supplies using Material Handling Equipment (MHE) or commercial vehicles.

• Work in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes and outdoor fielding areas.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, preferably within military environments.

  • Familiar with military logistics terminology, NSNs (National Stock Numbers), hand receipts, tool nomenclature, and supply documentation.

  • Prior experience supporting Retrofit Teams and understanding of related supply support activities.

• Systems/Tools:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Willing to train on SAMS-E, SARS, LMP, and PBUSE.

  • Familiarity with Lotus Notes preferred.

• Licensing/Certifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Able to obtain DA Form 348 certification for operating forklifts, MHE, and U.S. Government vehicles.

• Physical & Site Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and climb ladders.

  • Capable of working in extreme temperatures and motor pool or fielding environments.

  • Travel required to U.S. military or field sites in support of GDLS fielding operations.

• Other Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. person (citizen or lawful permanent resident).

  • Able to work with minimal supervision and coordinate effectively with logistics teams.
