The Aircraft Structural Installer / Mechanic works with a maintenance crew and is responsible for installing, repairing, and modifying aircraft structural components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Install, repair, and modify aircraft structural components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Remove and replace worn, damaged, or dented aircraft sheet metal and structural parts
- Perform repairs on aircraft body structures, flight control surfaces, pylons, windshields, and related components
- Cut, trim, bend, fit, and smooth sheet metal parts to proper tolerances and clearances
- Perform fuel cell and fuel tank cleaning and restoration as required
- Interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance data to determine repair methods and layout • Use sheet metal and structural tools and equipment including riveting, drilling, trimming, and fitting tools
