The Support to Operations (STO) Design Engineering group is responsible for the re-design and analysis of various compressor, combustion, transmission and turbine mechanical components. Our responsibilities extend across Engineering, Operations and Customer Service: from detail re-design, through validation & verification.

 

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Mississauga, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

You will be part of a team of specialists in the design of mechanical systems for turbomachines (turboprop, turboshaft, and turbofan) and you will:

  • Solve mechanical design problems on production and field engines.

  • Re-design mechanical component to facilitate manufacturing

  • Solve producibility challenges on turbomachinery components.

  • Perform thorough engineering evaluations of non-conforming material.

  • Support outsourcing activities by defining and executing substantiation plans for components manufactured by new suppliers.

  • Initiate design modifications for cost reductions.

  • Lead multidisciplinary integrated product teams (IPT)

  • Document IPT activities in design job projects.

 

What do you need to be successful?

  • English - Functional level

  • To have completed a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.

  • Member of PEO is recommended.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design.

  • General knowledge of engineering disciplines (aerodynamics, heat transfer, structures, dynamics).

  • Communication skills, written and oral.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and CATIA V5 is an asset.

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset

  • Member of PEO is an asset

The salary range for this role is 65,000 CAD - 107,800 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
