What You Can Expect

The Director of Decision Science focuses on using data analysis, statistical modeling, and other quantitative techniques to drive business decisions and strategies. Future growth to lead a team of analysts, develop and apply analytical models, conduct experiments, and translate data insights into actionable recommendations. The Director of Decision Science will work to influence spanet & capacity growth, operations efficiency, risk management, and other critical business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate business goals and strategies into appropriate analytical problems to produce meaningful recommendations.
• Leverage knowledge of sales, spaneting, operational processes and business analytics to deliver solutions to internal and external customers.
• Analyze data on current pricing structure for labor and maintenance and develop model-based metrics for future pricing structure.
• Construct sophisticated predictive models for estimating future demand & capacity for forecasting & budget purposes.
• Using collected data, perform supply-chain analyses and simulations to identify potential efficiencies to the overall inventory support area.
• Using collected data from real-time predictive maintenance sensors, analyze, model, and identify opportunities for an improved customer experience in the maintenance process.
• Develop and implement solutions that provide support for the senior management decision-making process.
• Develop an ongoing Big Data framework for best practices, quality control and assessment of models.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education:

Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics and/or Business; 10+ years of experience in quantitative analysis and modeling

Your Experience:

At least seven years of related work experience and progressive responsibilities preferred

A high level of proficiency in: - Python, R, and/or MATLAB

SQL and other relational databases

Advanced Machine Learning Techniques (i.e. boosting, ensemble methods, SVM/R) Data mining and data analysis, with special focus on large data-sets (structured and unstructured)

Back testing, simulation and advanced statistical techniques

Salary range for this position generally ranges from $175,000 - $200,000. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other forms of compensation include a semiannual discretionary bonus based on performance, as well as health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid vacation.
