Weekend Shift: 3/12-hour Shifts Friday – Sunday (11 Shift Differential; start times include 4am-4pm, 5am-5pm or 6am-6pm)

As a Lead Thermal Spray Coating Technician you’ll support daily thermal spray operations by working closely with a team of technicians. This role is highly hands-on, combining technical expertise with team leadership to guide day-to-day activities, promote best practices, and foster a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will serve as a resource and mentor to the team, helping drive quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while contributing directly to coating operations.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and support a team of thermal spray technicians in daily operations
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot thermal spray equipment (e.g., HVOF, plasma, arc spray)
- Ensure coatings meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards
- Monitor and optimize spray parameters, material usage, and process efficiency
- Train and mentor team members on equipment, processes, and safety procedures
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments and ensure proper documentation
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve process issues and implement improvements
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, housekeeping standards, and company policies
- Assist in scheduling, workload balancing, and meeting production targets
- Carries out other duties as assigned
