Roles and Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of night shift employees.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly.
Safety:
- Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety checks and address any hazards immediately.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among the team.
Quality:
- Monitor work processes to ensure quality standards are met.
- Address any quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Delivery:
- Ensure production schedules and deadlines are met during the night shift.
- Coordinate with other departments and 1st shift to maintain workflow continuity.
Cost Management:
- Optimize resources to minimize waste and control costs.
- Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and submit shift reports detailing production, safety, and quality metrics.
- Communicate effectively with day shift supervisors and management to ensure smooth transitions.
Problem-Solving:
- Address operational issues promptly and implement solutions.
- Escalate complex problems to management when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing)
Desired Characteristics
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a night shift setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., scheduling systems, reporting tools).
