To perform maintenance activities on powered and non-powered Ground Support, Material Handling and Workshop equipment, including all inspection and quality checks in line the dnata s Standard and procedures and Regulatory requirement.
In this role you will:
Plan
- Reviews ideas related to the improvement of efficiency, cost reduction, asset reliability and safety enhancement programs, and escalate them to the Service Engineer for formal evaluation.
- Consolidates findings of the asset condition reported by the team members during execution of maintenance activities and annual asset evaluation program and submits report to the relevant team to aid decision making, plan corrective action and provide inputs to the asset replacement and/or refurbishment program for capital budgeting.
- Using the reports from the team on repetitive faults, establish root cause of such faults, recommends solutions to mitigate such faults and optimise Mean Time between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Identifies need for spare parts and tools needed to ensure safe & timely completion of all maintenance tasks and inform relevant stakeholders on requirements. The job holder is responsible for reviewing and approving the material, tools & overtime requests by the team to ensure that actual job costs are aligned with planned costs.
- Deploy
- Ensures that any asset failure that impacts on time service delivery (Aircraft delays, misconnected cargo & baggage) is repaired and/or retrieved to minimise such impact.
- Ensures all work-related activities carried out during the shift by self and team are recorded accurately and legibly in the work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.
Lead
- Ensures all work teams maintain good housekeeping across all work areas, the cleanliness of all assets being worked on and that they are allocated tools that are fit for use. As required, provides direct guidance on these upkeep standards.
- Ensures that tools used by self and team members are appropriate for the job and the tools are maintained in the correct manner.
- Ensures standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
- Ensures the calibration & certification of all tools & lifting equipment used are current and highlight any discrepancy or damage to such tools to relevant team member.
- Ensures quality by producing extremely low level of return jobs.
- Provides technical input to spare parts staff to assist in correct part identification and supply.
- Guides junior or entry level team members to carry out maintenance activities and repairs to equipment, vehicles, plant & machinery, components and sub-assemblies under breakdown.
Execute
- Carries out periodic inspections and job quality checks on assets and work performed by members of the team and identify any specific training needs for the team.
- Provides co-operation, help and assistance to junior and senior colleagues by advising diagnosis procedures and efficient / correct work procedures.
- Carries out all maintenance activities (planned, unplanned, refurbishment, modifications etc) maintenance on equipment, vehicles, plant & machinery, components and sub-assemblies under breakdown to minimise downtime.
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
Degree or Diploma from recognised institution in any of the below engineering disciplines:
- Automotive
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Mechanical
- Hydraulics
- Diesel engine
Experience:
- Degree Holders with 4 to 6 years of experience or Diploma holder with 6 to 8 years of experience in the field of maintenance in below industries:
- GSE and Cargo Workshops in other airports
- Baggage Handling in Airports
- Automobile Workshop; (Cars, pickups, vans, small buses)
- Heavy Equipment (earth moving, trucks, buses, construction, waste management, heavy material handling)
- Process & Manufacturing Industries (refineries, aluminium processing, food processing, automated material handling, paper & plastic products are few examples)
- Transportation industry (rail, metro etc)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Certificate in other professionally recognised technical courses like Welding, Hydraulics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Fabrication, Battery Handling etc.
- Training from ground support & material handling equipment suppliers, established automotive and automotive component manufacturers.
- UAE Driving Licence preferred in order to gain ADP. Team members assigned to Ramp Breakdown team should have UAE driving licence, preferably heavy vehicle.
- Proficient understanding of maintenance practices
